My Perfect Weekend...

Southern charm and hospitality are two things that one can look forward to on a weekend getaway to the coastal city of Mobile, Alabama. There is much to do in this city of over 500,000 people. Are you craving some sun and fun? You should head to the beach, which is just a 30 minute drive from the city. Enjoy some delicious locally caught seafood at Wintzell's Original Oyster House (there are two locations: downtown and west Mobile). Do you enjoy Victorian style homes brimming with charm? Check out the historic home district downtown. You must go see the Oakleigh House, a beautiful large white mansion that was once inhabited by the town’s aristocracy. Take a tour in the Oakleigh House by one of the beautiful girls dressed up in appropriate antebellum wear – hoop dresses! Nightlife in downtown Mobile is surely not to be missed. You can enjoy a tasty beverage, some dancing, or some live music at Soul Kitchen or the Blind Mule, two bars that are famous to the locals. Stay at the Riverview Hotel for class and hospitality. Their five-star service definitely goes noticed, and you can have a view of Mobile’s port right out of your window. There is a Carnival Cruise Terminal in Mobile’s port as well, so if you are looking for a tropical getaway, you can just hop onto one of the cruise ships straight out of Mobile. Mobile, Alabama is a charming Southern city brimming with color, fresh and tasty seafood, and constantly warm weather.
